PostHeaderIcon Creating Winning Backgrounds For Twitter

The first thing to work on when designing your Twitter backgrounds is the image you wish to portray to the world. Spend some time to really think what you want to say, how you want to say it, and why. While backgrounds can be changed quite easily, it is a lot better to start as you meant to go on.

Indeed, I would go so far as to say that if you are struggling to find inspiration; or perhaps the design you are working isn’t quite working, take some time out and use what Twitter already has created for you. Okay, so they’re not going to win any awards, but they have been professionally and tastefully completed.

When you get down to designing your Twitter backgrounds, be sure to check you are working with appropriate size and resolution. The tech is good at Twitter, and they are quite accommodating, but mistakes will happen. Also look out for how you are using any text; not just regards placement on the page, but also color combinations, size and volume.

An important aspect that many first time tweeters fall foul of regards the incorporation of Twitter’s own logo. For this reason, use a border so their stuff will not detract from your stuff. Have a look at others ideas for how they work with this.

While it is not possible to complete testing before you introduce your designs to the live page; it is a very quick and easy upload process, and can be just as easily backed out if you are not happy.

If you are really stuck; feel free to have a look at what professional companies could do for you. Prices can be quite affordable, and they will have something prepped and set for you in next to know time; often within minutes. If the page is purely for social use however; it is unlikely this will be for you.

While changing your Twitter backgrounds regularly is wise always remember that it is the content that really matters.
